Our story
From a garage to an award-winning agency.
Spectra didn’t start in a glass office. It started with two school friends, a vinyl cutter and a lot of stubbornness. Here’s how we got from there to here.
2015
It started in a garage
Two school friends, Sam Spridgeon and John Wylde, cutting vinyl stickers and car decals out of Sam’s grandad’s garage in Chester.
The proof
A barber, a website, a lightbulb
John’s barber needed a website, so we built one and ran the ads behind it. Within three years it had driven £48,000 in sales. That was the moment it clicked: marketing should be measured in revenue, not invoices.
First office
Our first big client
Branding, web and lead generation for boxing promoter Andy Sampson put us on the map, and earned us our first office.
2023
All in
A major contract with Less Common Metals in Ellesmere Port let both founders go full-time on Spectra.
