A world leader that finally looks the part.
How we gave Less Common Metals, a global leader in complex alloy systems, an online presence and brand to match their world-class expertise, across strategy, website and print.
World-class science. A presence to prove it.
Less Common Metals is a world leader in the manufacture and supply of complex alloy systems and metals. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in the UK, they are experts in producing materials to tight compositional tolerances and controlled microstructures.
When LCM signed with Spectra, they wanted to revamp their online presence, showcase their expertise and innovation to customers and partners, and grow brand awareness and visibility in the global market. We delivered a comprehensive solution across strategy, website development and design for print.
A global reputation, an online presence that lagged behind.
LCM’s reputation in industry is built on precision and innovation, but their digital presence didn’t tell that story. They needed to showcase complex, technical expertise to an international audience of customers and partners, clearly and credibly.
With two distinct sides to the business, the company and its labs division, the brand also had to work across both without losing coherence, on screen and in print at exhibitions worldwide.
Strategy first, then a brand that performs everywhere.
We started with strategy sessions to map LCM’s goals, challenges and opportunities, then delivered across three workstreams.
Marketing strategy
Strategy sessions with recommendations and insights to map LCM's goals, challenges and opportunities before anything was built.
Website development
A modern, responsive website suiting both the company and labs divisions, with a user-friendly interface and content that highlights their products, services and achievements.
Design for print
Contemporary graphic design for banners, flyers, brochures and posters, conveying LCM's identity and value at exhibitions and events.
A brand that travels as far as they do.
The rebuild did more than look the part. It took LCM off page three and onto page one, with the average Google ranking for its core terms climbing from around 23rd to around 7th like for like, and search impressions up 174% over the same window. The site now ranks top three for the technical searches that bring in specifiers, praseodymium magnet and hydrogen storage alloys among them, rather than only for the company name. And when LCM made headlines with the USA Rare Earth acquisition, the new site was ready: that single story became one of the most visited pages of the year, helping site visitors more than triple. A platform built to turn a big moment into lasting visibility.
Every figure here comes from LCM’s own Google Analytics and Search Console. Ask and we will walk you through the reporting.
